Setting
Much of the book is taking place in a rural area in Mississippi.
It is a dry, hot place in the summer and spring while the Logan's are picking cotton.
In this area, prejudice is very abundant. White people are always beating down blacks mentally and physically.

Plot
Most of the plot is telling the reader what is going on in the area and all about the Logan family.
It is packed with action, as far as the Logan's go.
The children are always trying to find a way to get back at the whites. (Page 50-56)
That was until one day when Cassie saw and heard members of the KKK coming up her drive.
Luckily, they weren't looking for the Logan's, they were looking for the Tatums.
