- The practice of medicine which is involved in keeping people asleep and pain free during surgery
- Anesthesiologists are a type of doctor
- They go to medical to 4 years, and their residency lasts an additional 4 years
- The Anesthesiologists job is to keep the patient safe while the surgeon operates
- The anesthesisiologist is part of a team which consists of the surgeon, anesthesiologists,nurses, and the techs

- They have to work night and day and they are frequently on call
- They take care of people the very old to the very young, even people who have babies
- Some of them work in ICU, and other ones specialize in treating people with cancer pain
- Technology had made anesthesia much safer than it was in the past
- You don't want to eat before the anesthesisiologist gives you anesthesia
