- Can happen at any time
- The time a fetus is considered a life is not agreed upon
- Procedure usually happens before 28 weeks

Moral Issues with abortion
- is a fetus considered a life before childbirth?
- when a fetus is considered living.
- Some believe it is acceptable if it threatens the mother's well being.
- some believe its justified if you look at the mother's circumstances...ex:Finances

- Reasearch on abortion=illegal
- Research on abortion=illegal
- 1892- 1st criminal code, allows for abortion info to be legal.
- 1926-1946: 4000-6000 women due bc of bugled illegal abortions
- 1936- social worker arrested for giving info on abortions

- 1971-1973-Morgantaler sentenced to 18 months

- Expressed his opinion on abortion laws in the house of commons.
- Challenged the criminal code by giving safe abortions
- Faced many trials, eventually got sentenced to 10 months of prison
