Since July 2016 The Hyde Foundation does three things

Untitled Slide

  • We work with vulnerable people to maintain their tenancies
  • We pre-empt wider community issues and address them pro-actively
  • We innovate and invent

So how are we doing?

Successful Tenancies

Helping people maintain their tenancies

Our target is to work with 2000 vulnerable tenants a year

Most referrals are for people with Money problems who owe us money

We looked at eviction rates among our referrals comparing those who engaged with those who did not

Because evictions cost a lot of money

This is what we found

That means.....

And if you add in the money we save Hyde by reducing the arrears of tenants we work with...

Our cost benefit ratio is really positive

Residents benefit too

This is what it means to the people we work with...

Sally suffered from anxiety and agoraphobia

Because she had not reported changes to her circumstances her benefits stopped

Her arrears mounted and Hyde took her to court to recover them

We started to work with her....

Here's what we did

  • Re-instated benefits & got a discretionary housing payment
  • Cleared over £1000 of arrears and Sally now pays on time, every time
  • Built confidence and helped her find a voluntary job
Here's Sally's full story in a handy video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6O8Y5eQjLUI

Successful Places is a small team of advisers who work through partners to benefit our communities

The team have real impact reducing ASB where it is a problem

At the Propeller estate in Croydon

Some of our impact is measured using a social value calculator devised by HACT

We use three measures to calculate our social value

Volunteering, Young people and sports activities

That's a lot of social value

Look out for more performance updates as we reach our 1 yr anniversary in August 2017
