WHAT IS A EARTHQUAKE?

  • An earthquake’s when the earth plates slip apart, then a big crack is formed and the ground rumbles. That is an earthquake, it usually lasts 10 - 30 seconds.

WHERE DOES IT HAPPEN?

  • It happens around coasts and the western mountain ranges, they happens mostly around water. Some were around Alaska.

WHAT MAKES IT DANGEROUS?

  • Buildings break and may fall. They tear holes in earth. If earthquakes happen by a coast it may cause a tsunami. Most are weak but they can be strong

HOW DO WE STAY SAFE FROM IT?

  • Going under a table or desk and hold on the the desk or table legs, and the desk or table needs to cover you’re whole body, so then falling debris don’t fall on you
  • If your table at home is crushed by debris then run out in the open outside to not get hit by a building.

HOW DO WE PREDICT THIS KIND OF WEATHER?

  • There are no ways to predict a earthquake they can happen anytime. People say animals act strange before a earthquake like, dogs.

  • It takes a whole town or two to clean and repair a city or town.
  • More than 200 people die from earthquakes everyday.
  • Us humans can not feel earthquakes.
