WHAT IS A WRITING CENTER?

WHAT HAPPENS IN A SESSION

• Assess the needs of the writer
• Determine the most important issues that need to be dealt with
• Devise a plan for helping the writer understand his/her improvement options

CONSULTANTS WON'T

• Write papers or parts of papers for students
• Correct a student’s paper
• Offer a potential grade on an assignment
• Gossip about clients, instructors, or other consultants

WHO SHOULD USE THE WRITING CENTER?

Available Workshops:
SAT writing strategies
Essay revision strategies
Persuasive/Argumentative writing

Hours of Operation:

M-F during lunches , 4th hour, and Ram hour

M-Th after school until 3pm

HOW TO USE THE WRITING CENTER

• Students can make an appointment online
• Teachers can schedule the Writing Center to come to their classes
• Students can do walk-ins (with teacher pass)
