WHY IT HAPPENED

• The genocide was sparked by the Rwandan president Juvenal Habyarimanas plane was shot out of the air in 1994.
• It wasn't a good reason because it has nothing to do with Tutsis.

• When Rwanda began to fill with corpses about 16 or 17 years ago, the world stood by and did nothing despite the fact that the United Nations already had peacekeepers deployed in the country.

WHAT HAPPENED AFTER

• Over the past two decades,Rwanda has done an impressive job of rebuilding institutions and economic. To bring perpetrators to justice, the United Nations has to conduct more than 70 tribunal cases,Rwanda's courts tried up to 20,000 individuals.

• The Hutus didn't have a good reason to eliminate 70% of Tutsis population
