SLIDE TWO: The royals/workers/fairies of A Midsummer Nights Dream are very similar to real life people. For example, The Royals in our world are people that a very wealthy like Oprah. The workers in our world are people are construction workers and people who work behind desks. The fairies in our world are actors and musicians. They use props to make this look like magic and just do lots of different things.
SLIDE THREE: The play of A Midsummer Nights Dream wasn't so different from the book. The only thing different was the way people did things on the stage because they weren't in the book. A few lines were rearranged here and there but there wasn't anything specific that was different between the story and the play.
SLIDE FOUR: In the story I played Helena. I played a very important role. Helena was one of the main characters in the story and she was very important. Helena was part of the love cycle in the story. Helena loved Demetrius but Demetrius loved Hermia.
SLIDE FIVE: The line "The course of true love never did run smooth" from AMSND comparing to real life is focusing on realizing love isn't easy to find. Loving someone who doesn't love you back is very difficult to handle, but it is a part of being a human being. You have to go through difficult events throughout your life. For example, people might not feel the way you feel about them. People may not see what you see in them. Everybody has their own interests in a woman or man. They might think they are not important to them or apart of their life. Love isn't easy to handle when it's ending, True love is very difficult to discover.
SLIDE SIX: A famous quote from AMSND is"Love looks not with the eyes but with the mind". This quote is famous because it is very deep. It means you can't find love by just looking at someone, it's way more complicated then that. In order to find love you have to get to know a person and your mind makes the decision, your mind determines whether you love someone or not. In the real world people don't just look at a person and say "I love you" you have to get to know the person and your mind makes the decision if you like or love another person or not.
SLIDE SEVEN: William Shakespeare was born April 23rd 1564. Shakespeare lived in a loveless marriage. This explains why he wrote about love and war so often. William married Anne Hathaway when he was 18 years old. He married Anne because he wanted to have a child to carry his legacy. Hamnet was the son William wanted to give his money and legacy to. Unfortunately, Hamnet died from a severe sickness August 5th 1596.
SLIDE EIGHT: Interesting things about The Globe Theatre was it was built in London. The theater was associated with William Shakespeare. It was built in 1599 by Shakespeare's playing company. Shakespeare wanted a place where he could have is plays performed. He wanted the people of London and all over to appreciate his performances. Shakespeare's sons admired the building because it was very important to their father, it then became something important to them. Sadly, June 29 of 1613 the Globe Theater burnt down. It burnt down during the performance of "Henry VIII". Three years later, Shakespeare died on April 23rd.
SLIDE NINE: William Shakespeare's Sonnet 73 is about the characteristics on nature and the metaphors of it. In the sonnet it says "time of year" which is showing that is it late autumn. When the leaves have almost completely fallen from the trees, and the weather has grown cold. Also the birds have left their branches behind. He compares himself to the glowing remnants of fire. "On the ashes of his youth" is explaining that the ashes on the logs, once enabled it to burn. Something referring to the last example is "By that which it was consumed by". William Shakespeare is saying u must perceive these things and that their love must be strengthened.
SLIDE TEN: The Tempest opens in the middle of a storm. The king of Naples and his party struggles are hard to stay afloat on his ship. On land, Prospero and his daughter, Miranda, watch the storm overcome the ship. Prospero has created the storm with magic, and he explains that his enemies are on board the ship. Alonso, the king of Naples, is returning from his daughter’s wedding in Tunis. He is accompanied by his son, Ferdinand, his brother, Sebastain, and Antonio, the Duke of Milan. An old Milanese courtier, Gonzalo, is also on board. The ship is wrecked in a storm and all the passengers and crew are thrown into the furious sea.
