Mount St. Helens
Mount St. Helens is an active stratovolcano located in Skamania County, Washington, in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States. It is 96 miles south of Seattle, Washington, and 50 miles northeast of Portland, Oregon. Wikipedia

Mount Vesuvius is a stratovolcano in the Gulf of Naples, Italy, about 9 km east of Naples and a short distance from the shore. It is one of several volcanoes which form the Campanian volcanic arc.

Propelled by intense heat simmering beneath the crust, Earth’s surface is dramatically reshaping itself in an endless, slow-motion ballet called plate tectonics. Its huge, rocky plates separate, collide, and slide past each other causing earthquakes, feeding volcanic eruptions.
