What is Federation?

• Federation is an event that occurred in the 1900’s that made all 6 british colonies unite and form a nation. Western Australia didn’t agree but later they did.

Why is Federation Important?

• Federation is very important to us because without it travelling to different colonies would be hard because of the train track size and the different rules.

How did Australia become a nation?

• Australia became an independent nation on the 1st of January 1901 which is called Federation. Federation was 6 colonies united as one to become a nation.

Who was Edmund Barton?

• Edmund was a judge & a lawyer before but he stepped up to be to be the first prime minister of australia!
