1. PAL PROGRAM

GRADE 5 - 2009

Back in my elementary school there was a leadership opportunity that you were chosen by your teacher to join. I was of course chosen not confident at all but learned and progressed as I went on.

Responsibilities included:

  • Announcements
  • Creating games for younger grades at recess
  • Helping the secretary with tasks
  • Being a teacher’s assistant
  • Help janitors with trash pickup

2. LEADERSHIP CLUB TRIP

GRADE 8 - 2012

The trip included a high ropes course which tested strength as an individual but more as a team. We did group oriented challenges to test our teamwork. We also got to enjoy a day out in nature as a group to bond and learn more about each other.

This trip showed me how much of a leader my teachers thought I was. I pushed myself to my limits with people I barely knew and really succeeded. I proved I could do activities without letting my inner shyness get the best of me. Surely, it impacted me for the greater.

3. SISTER MOVING OUT DAY

GRADE 10 - 2015

This experience led me to gain more event planning skills because it involved a lot of prior planning. I made a game plan and achieved more then what was expected. I allowed myself to be vulnerable and take chances to make my sister and her fiancé happy.

4. MY FIRST JOB

GRADE 10 SUMMER - 2015

Receiving the news I got the job in the end of grade 10 was great but I knew I had to step up to the plate and be the leader I knew I could. Working with a money and customers requires a lot of confidence in yourself. Taking this leap of faith, I had to become a better leader and perfect my skills. I have definitely learned a lot and still do learn to this day.

5. TERRY FOX RUN

GRADE 11 - 2015

This event did occur less than a week ago but I learned a lot from it. I perfected my skills in getting task done by taking on large leadership roles in my team. Allowing myself to get involved in a school activity really showed me what our school is possible of. This event really made my school spirit as leader come back.

FUTURE DEVELOPMENT?

2016

In the near future I hope I can excel even more. I wish to learn how to communicate better and level with someone as a leader. I believe this will occur when I start to plan my future after high school.I will have to communicate with people I don't know, this will force me to improve my skills. I hope the future allows me to learn more as a leader.

PERSONALITY PROGRESSION

2009 - THE FUTURE

I would like to think my personality has grown for the better in he last 7 years. I believe I have learned my strengths and weakness' and I now know how to manage them. I also have learned what my passions are and how I want to develop them, which will probably change in the future. My overall approach to situations has definitely changed drastically since I started working. I want to think I'm more mature and knowledgeable in tough issues.

BELIEFS AND VALUES

CURRENT DAY

My values as an individual definitely impact my actions and how I act towards others as a leader. I think my core values consist of creativity, being adventurous, being passionate, and realism. These 4 values reflect upon how I am as a leader. The decisions I make are usually out of the box and innovative that others wouldn't usually take the risk and do.

FUTURE GROWTH

2015 - FUTURE

At a very young age in school my teachers have always said I displayed leadership qualities. As a very shy person I never really believed them. Growing up I have gained more confidence every year but I still am very shy. Going into the future I hope I am able to break my bubble and publicly speak without worry. I hope I can use the truest potential that my teachers saw and prove them right.
