These types of homes are usually found in Northeastern France
In the Bresse region
Located in the Rhone-Alpes Province
In the foothills of the Jura Mountains (Part of the Alps)

The Bresse house is type of farm
It is expansive and rural
They raise pigs, chickens and horses

The roofs on the houses are fit for the environment
They are hipped, to protect from harsh rain and snow
They also have eaves
Wooden beams support the eaves
Those are used to dry foods for the long, cold winter

This is for protection from the bise
The bisé is a freezing, dry wind
It comes from Switzerland
