What Is A Fossil?

Do you know what a fossil is? I will tell you a couple of facts about what a fossil can be. First, a fossil is something of a ancient animals and extinct animals like teeth, shells and bones. Next, a fossil does not have to be from an animal, it could also be a plant like grass or trees even leaves. Last but not least, a fossil can be footprints, tail marks or droppings. Those are some examples of what a fossil is!

How Are Fossils Formed?

Have you ever wandered how fossils were formed? I'll tell you how they are formed. First the soft body parts start to rot away or get eaten by other dinosaurs. The next step in the process is the bones or other hard body parts get buried in sediment. Then the hard body parts minerals get replaced by the waters minerals. Finally the pressure makes the hard body parts start to dry up and you have a fossil. Now you know how a fossil is formed.

What are some interesting features of the Stegosaurus?

Did you know there are many interesting features of the Stegosaurus?Don't believe me? Read this and you will see! One feature about the Stegosaurus is that they have leaf like blunt teeth for chewing grass and leaves because they are herbivores. In addition, to there leaf like blunt teeth there front jaw is completely tooth less so there teeth have to be in the second jaw.Next, the Stegosaurus had plates along it's back to protect them self's. The plates were in a diamond like shape. Fact four, the Stegosaurus was about 20-30 feet long. Last but not least, the Stegosaurus had spikes on there tails for self-protection because they only had one other way to protect them self, there plates. Now you know some interesting features of the Stegosaurus. Do you believe me now?

What Are Some Relatives Of The Stegosaurus And How There The Same And Different?

There are many relatives of the Stegosaurus. Here are some relatives of the Stegosaurus. One relative of the Stegosaurus is the Scelidosaurus. The Scelidosaurus is like the Stegosaurus because it was a herbivore and a quadruped. One other relative of the Stegosaurus is the Kentosaurus. It is different from the Stegosaurus because it lived in Tanzania Africa and there plates became narrower as they aged like spikes. Along with the Kentosaurus, the Dacentrurus was a omnivore and lived in England, United Kingdom, Portugal and France. The forth relative of the Stegosaurus is the Dravidosaurus. The Dravidosaurus was the last known relative of the Stegosaurus and lived in India. Lastly the Lexovisaurus had spikes on it's tail and had triangle like plates. Those are some relatives of the Stegosaurus.
