Valedictorian

  • My fourth goal is that I would like to be a valedictorian in high school by practicing good learning habits.

How will goal #1 be achieved?

  • As I said my number one goal is to build more muscle by the 12th grade. I decided in order to achieve my goal I have to have a complete lifestyle change. Currently I eat a lot of fast food. Though, I am not fat, I still am not healthy either. In order to build more muscle I will eat a healthier diet consisting of lots of fruits and vegetables, eating lean meats, eating all three meals, have a balanced meal, and also by eating primarily whole grains instead of refined. I would also try to cut out any fast food or trans-fat since they are so unhealthy for me. I would also start a exercise program primarily based on muscle strengthening and endurance. My exercise program would be consisted of anaerobic and aerobic exercises as well. For example after doing stretches I may start off my lifting weights with swimming as a cool down. In terms of frequency I hope to work out 5 days of the week for at least an hour a day.
  • Though, this isn't an easy goal to achieve, I know it is attainable by the 12th grade!

How will goal #2 be achieved?

  • My second goal was that I would like to eat healthier. Currently my diet is very bad. I eat lots of fast food. Though, I am not fat I would still like to change my diet so I can enable myself to reach my other goals. I will eat a healthier diet consisting of lots of fruits and vegetables, eating lean meats, eating all three meals, have a balanced meal, and also by eating primarily whole grains instead of refined. I will do this over a 12 month period. I do not want to just start my diet quickly. A rapid change like that could make ill. I want to slowly ease in each part of healthy eating in my diet over the course of 12 months. Depending on what I ate that was unhealthy the previous month, I would take that out of my diet and substitute it with a healthier alternative. For example; instead of eating fried chicken I may choose a healthier alternative which would be a lean chicken that is grilled.
  • I also will cut out as much fast food as I can. When I am forced to eat fast food I will strive to pick out the healthiest thing there according to their nutritonal value which you can usually find on their website.

How will goal #3 be achieved?

  • Okay, I am going to be honest... I am not very good at all at push-ups (10 Per/M currently). I cannot do very much at all and when I do them sometimes my muscles hurt afterwards. Using my muscle strengthening and endurance program I mentioned earlier I will do activities that will strengthen my upper body (weights) and that will strengthen my core (yoga or Pilates). I want to do more push-ups in the time according to my exercise program. I want to be able to do them quickly and efficiently. The only way to do that is through practice, good diet, and a muscle strengthening program. Although it would not be easy I know through practice I can definitely accomplish my goal.

How will goal #4 be accomplished?

  • My last goal was to become valedictorian. I plan to become valedictorian by working very hard in school. You make ask "what does working very hard" mean to you. Working very hard means that I will make sure I get straight A's and be on top. I will do that by practicing good learning habits. If something is unclear I will go get it cleared up by a teacher. I will also study every night in order to be better prepared for any test/exams. I am guilty of procrastination. I delay things till the last minute. I want to be procrastinate less by shutting off all my devices in order to not be tempted. Goal 2 surprisingly affects goal 4. By eating right and getting the necessary nutrients I hope to be more awake and more alert when taking a test. I also want to mention that my muscle strengthening program also helps here as well. Studies show you can remember something well if you have done any physical activity before actually studying.
  • By doing all the things above, I hope to be, one day, valedictorian in high school.

Dates For Reassesment

  • As far as all my goals go, I think I would document my progress of a week each time and then reassess my self quarterly according to what my dead line is. Goal 1: I would have to reassess my self every 325 days if I choose to workout 5 times a week, every week, of the year.
  • Goal 1: I would have to reassess my self every 325 days if I choose to workout 5 times a week, every week of the year, for 5 years.
  • Goal 2: I would have to reassess myself every 3 months, if I choose to ease my diet in over 12 months.
  • Goal 3: I would have to reassess my self every 325 days if I choose to workout in order to improve how much times I can do a push-up in a minute, 5 times a week, every week of the year, for 5 years. .
  • Goal 4: I would have to reassess my self every year in order to improve based on previous grades so that I can become valedictorian in highschool.

Obstacles Goal #1

  • Some obstacles that I may face during goal #1 is that I may not stick to regular exercise, I may not have the time to exercise for 5 days a week, an hour a day, I may hurt my self doing exercise which will delay my overall. Another thing is that I may also think my exercise is boring even if I really want to get muscular. Also I may be too tired to exercise after school or I may simply be too lazy that day. These are all obstacles I need to face when I exercise.

Obstacles Goal #2

  • Some obstacles I may face during my diet will include; having a bad attitude about eating healthy, my lifestyle is to hard to change, my workouts make me hungry so I crave fast food, bad eating habits (soda), my environment (the people around me), and having a bad support system (friends and family judging but not supporting). I know that if I want to have a good diet I need to overcome these obstacles.

Obstacles Goal #3

  • Some obstacles that I may face trying to do more push ups per minute is that I get lazy, have a bad attitude, and I may get bored. Another thing is that I may get hurt while training so I might be delayed as far as time to attain my goal.

Obstacles Goal #4

  • Some obstacles that I may face when trying to become valedictorian is that I may get sick and miss class therefore missing important instruction, I may not get motivated, I may become lazy, I may procrastinate on assignments, and I may also not work my hardest on assignments.

Overcoming Obstacles Goal #1

  • The following are someways that I can overcome the obstacles for goal #1. If I do not have time to do exercise I can squeeze short walks throughout the day or get up earlier.
  • If I do not have time to do exercise I can squeeze short walks throughout the day or get up earlier.
  • If I think my exercise is boring I should choose activities that I enjoy, vary my activities, exercise with friends, and learn new exciting skills while I workout.
  • If I am too tired to exercise after school I should wake up early in the morning and exercise for at least 30 minutes.
  • If I am too lazy to exercise I should remind my self of why I took on this goal in the first place to get motivated.
  • If I get hurt, I should just get back up after healilng.

Overcoming Obstacles Goal #2

  • The following are some strategies that I can use to overcome the obstacles of goal #2.
  • If I have a bad attitude about eating healthy I should think about why I that attitude and try to change it.
  • If my lifestyle is to hard to change according to the diet I may try to ease things in every two months and change the timeline to get acustommed to the diet for two years.
  • If my workouts make me crave fast food, I will try to either eat fast food in small portions or just try to eat healthy, tasty alternatives to fast food.
  • If I have a bad environment around me I can simply just leave, or eat something I love that is healthy.
  • If I do not have a good support system I can always think of why I am doing this which will bring me right back up!

Overcoming Obstacles Goal #3

  • The following are some strategies on how to overcome obstacles that I face while training for goal #3.
  • If I get lazy during my training, I will remind myself why in the first place I took on this goal.
  • If I have a bad attitude about training, I can figure out the source of it and try to fix the situation.
  • If I get bored during the training I can always chose activities I like to do and perhaps do them with friends.
  • If I get hurt during training, after healing, I will just get back up again.

Overcoming Obstacles Goal #4

  • The following are strategies that I may use to overcome obstacales that I may face during goal #4.
  • If I get sick, I will get the instruction from a friends or the the teacher themself.
  • If I am not motivated and get lazy I will remind my self of why I took up this goal in the first place.
  • If I procrastinate on assignments I will do them and then learn from the experience which will hopefully change my procrastination eventually.
  • If I do not work my hardest on any assignment I will just work even harder next time.

Feelings about reaching goal #1

  • When I finally achieved my goal my feelings would be indescribable. I would have had feelings of excitement, happiness, and finnally fufillment.
  • Specifically about this goal I would be ecstatic because this was my top priority goal. Being muscular was something I wanted for myself and if I achieved that, I would be over the roof. Honestly I would say I would not be the same person after completing this goal. After completing this goal I would be a different person because then I would know that I can do anything if I put my mind to it.

Feelings about reaching goal #2

  • When I finally achieved my goal my feelings would be indescribable. I would have had feelings of excitement, happiness, and finally fulfillment.
  • Specifically about this goal I would be so proud of my self because I never was able to change my food patterns. Whenever I tried eating healthy I always failed in the long run. And I would be more excited about completing this goal because completing this goal allows me to go towards other goals which would be a great experience considering first hand that setting goals works.

Feelings about reaching goals #3

  • When I finally achieved my goal my feelings would be indescribable. I would have had feelings of excitement, happiness, and finally fulfillment.
  • Specifically I would be so happy after this goal. In PE I was always unable to do push ups and in a way it made me sad watching the other kids able to do them but not me. Knowing, though, that I can now do what they do is truly astonishing to me.

Feelings about reaching goals #4

  • When I finally achieved my goal my feelings would be indescribable. I would have had feelings of excitement, happiness, and finally fulfillment.
  • Specifically I would be the happiest person on the world if I accomplished this goal. I know I look up to my parents as my role models. Sometimes I fail them and sometimes I don't. I guess that is just apart of growing up. Seeing the satisfaction, though, on their faces or seeing their faces glow up if I became valedictorian would be priceless.

Feelings about not achieving goal #1

  • Honestly if I did not achieve my goal I would be pretty depressed. Working so hard for something and it not working out is just a heartache. I would also be mad at myself for not trying harder towards my goals
  • If I didn't achieve this goal I would be pretty depressed. Like I said this was my number one goal and not being able to achieve it would just be so sad. I would also be mad at myself for not trying harder towards my goals

Feelings about not achieving goal #2

  • Honestly if I did not achieve my goal I would be pretty depressed. Working so hard for something and it not working out is just a heartache. I would also be mad at myself for not trying harder towards my goals
  • Like I said before not being able to complete a goal just sucks because you worked so hard for it. If I wasn't able to complete this goal I think I would still try to eat healthier in general even if I didn't have a specific goal beacuse eating healthy matters so much.

Feelings about not achieving goal #3

  • Honestly if I did not achieve my goal I would be pretty depressed. Working so hard for something and it not working out is just a heartache. I would also be mad at myself for not trying harder towards my goals
  • If I wasn't able to complete this goal all I would think of is the children who were able to do it and wonder why I couldn't. I would be sad and confused. Though this was a bad experience I would be happy because learning on how I can make my goals more attainable is really important.

Feelings about not achieving goal #4

  • Honestly if I did not achieve my goal I would be pretty depressed. Working so hard for something and it not working out is just a heartache. I would also be mad at myself for not trying harder towards my goals
  • I would be the most sad if I did not become valedictorian because I feel that in the eyes of my parents I would be a "failure". Though I know that is not the case I would just feel like I have let them down. They are my role models and I would never want to let them down so I would be especially sad if I did not attain this goal.

Why is it important to set goals?

  • It is important to set goals because goals motivate you to do things better. For example if you had a goal on how much push ups you can do you probably would do better if you had a certain goal because your mind will try to push you to that margin.
  • Goals also make you more productive. For example if you had a goal of doing something and really wanted to attain it you would work diligently so you can achieve it.
  • It is also important to keep goals because they keep you focused on the end result. For example if you workout and you are trying to lose weight you will be focused on how you will look after which will drive you even harder.
  • Another reason to set goals is because goals give you a feeling of enthusiasm when you complete or achieve them. They give you a feeling of self accomplishment.
  • Lastly goals make you a better leader because they keep you orientated which makes you more focused resulting on better results. If you get better results you can get better responsibilities. When others see how efficiently you work with these responsibilities, they will look at you like a leader.
