• Got a Bachelors Degree in Film from Arizona State University
• Studied music with a couple different mentors, Jon Gomez, being one of them
• He gained interest in writing music when he attended an event called "The Art of Orchestration"

• His piece "Shadow Rituals" won first prize in the first Frank Ticheli Composition Competition (coincidence?)
• The Arizona Sate University Wind Symphony has their recording of "Shadow Rituals" published by Manhattan Beach Music
• Paige O'Hara (Belle for Beauty and the Beast) and Michael have arranged pieces, and co-composed for each other
