Body

  • Llamas are mammals. They can weigh up to 400 pounds.
  • They have long faces and thick ears.
  • Their thick wool helps them to stay warm in winter.

Food

  • Llamas graze on grass and other plants that are in the mountains.
  • They eat hay and grains when they live on farms.
  • llamas need very little water to live.

Life Cycles

  • Female llamas give birth to crias, they weigh 18 to 33 pounds when they are born.
  • They drink their mom's milk for 6 months.
  • Most llamas live 15 to 20 years
