• They preformed the first successful skull surgery.
• Priests would remove skull fragments pressing on the brain.
• Built many large successful roads over valleys.

The Incas were highly respected and skilled with their art.
The created ceramics, metalworks, and textiles.
They used many geometric shapes in their artwork.

RELIGION OF THE INCAS

• Polytheistic peoples
• Viracocha: The creator god
• Inti: The god of the sun
• Apu Illapu: The rain giver
• Mama Quilla: Wife of the sun god, and considered the Moon Mother.

RELIGION CONTINUED

• They worshiped the gods in order to get good harvest or good weather.
• The temples were made of finely sanded stones which fit together like jigsaw puzzles.

DECLINE OF THE INCAS

• The last emperor of the Incas, Atahuallpa the 13th dies from strangulation by conquistadors, leading to the downfall of the Incas
• The leading Conquistador was Fransisco Pizarro.
