BASIC PIE CRUST

ingredients

  • 1cup all- purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/3 cup shortening
  • 2/3 tbsp. cold water

procedure

  • blend flour and shortening in a bowl using a pastry  blender
  • sprinkle cold water in the mixture and press the mixture together
  • spread the dough on the floured board. roll it wth  rolling pin
  • start rolling from the center out forming circle. 
  • measure and cut the dough

procedure

  • roll the dough over the rolling pin.unroll over the pie pan to fit well.
  • pick  liberally with fork before baking
  • bake for 12-15  minutes at 450F

  • 4-5 tbsps. cold water
