POPULATION

WHAT'S DECREASING
POPULATION:
The fish population is in danger. Overfishing, pollution, and lack of conservation are killing the fish. How can people make a change?

STOP TRAWLING

IT'S TOO BIG
OVERFISHING:
Bottom trawling is when people drag big nets from the bottom of the ocean and collect schools of fish. Bottom trawling leads to overfishing because they're killing too many fish. Bottom trawling is like taking a bulldozer and trying to chase a couple of squirrels out of a hunting area. Banning bottom trawling helps the fish recover.

THERE'S NO HIDING

CHEMICAL CLOUD
POLLUTION:
Pollution poisons the water. One hundred thousand fish die from pollution every year. The fish's environment is destroyed due to pollution. If pollution is bad for humans, it's bad for the fish.

SCRAMBLED PRODUCTION

NO EGGS
REPRODUCTION:
Overfishing and pollution affects the ability to reproduce the next generation of fish. The reason why is the female fish population is decreased. The male fish that guard the eggs can't do their jobs. The eggs spawned in the polluted water will be very unhealthy.
