Subject- A subject is usually the topic the sentence is about. Mostly is a noun.

Ex. Her favorite drink is coffee.
Drink is the subject

Direct object- the receiver of the action.

Ex. Jimmy fed the dog
Dog would be the direct object

Indirect object- the doer of the action.

Ex. Chaney gave Kate a hug.
Chaney would be the indirect object.

Subject verb agreement- the subject must agree with the person, number or gender.

Ex. After the forest fire nothing seems to be alive in the woods.
Seems is agreeing to the number which is nothing.

Descriptive adjectives- describes a noun or pronouns person, place, gender, number or other qualities.

Ex. The foolish monkey.
Foolish describes monkey

Prepositions- showing relation to another word or phrase in the clause.

Ex. The girl is beside the court.
Beside is the preposition

Noun- person, place, thing, or idea.

Ex Bella is a dog.
Bella and dog are nouns

Subject compliment- renames the subject.

Ex. My third grade teacher, Mrs. Rodgers was my favorite teacher.
Mrs. Rodgers renames teacher

Appositive- follows the noun and renames it

Ex Mrs. Rodgers, my third grade teacher was my favorite.

Demonstrative adjectives- describe and modify specific nouns.(this that these and those)

Ex this cat is angry.
This is your demonstrative adjective

Interrogative adjectives- used to ask a question (what, which, and whose)

Ex whose bag is this
Whose is the interrogative adjective

Indefinite adjectives- refers to all of a group or a member of a group.
(Each, every, neither, few, many)
Ex.

Comparative adjectives-
Ends in -er/more than

Ex Today is sunnier than it was yesterday
Sunnier is the comparative adj.

Superlative adjective- Greatest/ most

Ex Today has been the sunniest day of the year.
Sunniest is the superlative adj.

Concrete- Things you can feel

Ex. The dogs food.
Dog and food would be concrete

Abstract- ideas you can't physically touch or see

Ex she is pretty
Ex pretty is abstract

Count- can count or divide without any other description

Ex. There are 12 dogs out there.

Ex. She has soda.
Soda is non count
