Children lived fairly easy lifes if the slave owner was wealthy
The parents hired teachers to teach the children how to read and write
Girls learnd how to manage a large household with many servants
Boys learnd how to run the plantation
Life was very diffirent in the back country

Africans were not treated as humans they were bought and sold as property
Every kid was forced to work
The hard workers were not fed well
Many slave refused by working slowly as possible with out being punished
The houses were small and cramped

They created a community that was like a large familly
They looked to the bible for stories of inspiration
They rememberd their past by telling stories
They sang songs to help pass the time while working
They created a language out of african languages and English

Plantations & small farms
The plantations were more like small villiages than farms
The masters house was usually surrounded by stabels and farms
People were not fed very well
