1. SOIL

It’s important to spend time working the ground before planting. Prepare your soil by adding natural materials and compost. This will ensure that your plants will have a healthy place to grow!

2. BORDER

Consider how you plan to fence your garden. You want to make sure you are the one that gets to enjoy the fruits of your labor. Rabbits, groundhogs, and deer can ruin your hard work.

3. PLANTS

Research what vegetable plants grow well in your zone. Then, decide how much of each type of vegetable you are going to plant. Visit your local nursery or garden center to get your supplies, and get planting! Be sure to pay attention to frost dates.

4. CARE

Water your veggies when the soil is dry. Also, take care of your plants by keeping weeds down and keeping an eye out for insects. You can always call your local nursery or garden center with questions about how to best care for your garden.
