Rick Riodan wrote the stories of Percy Jackson as a teenage boy that always finds himself in some kind of trouble in School. He has very bad ADHD and Dyslexia. The twist is that he has these disabilities because he is actually the son of the Greek God Poseidon and is a Demigod. Rick Riodan brings a whole new world to life of Percy and his friends that is filled with imagination. These group of kids do not just fight with gods and monsters, but also deal with everything that comes with being a teenager and all the obstacles that come with it.

Rick Riodan's tales tell of how everyday teenagers feel and respond to the world we live in now with just a twist of some out rouges adventures of monsters and gods. He has the special connection with his readers it being a kids that struggles in school or a kid coming from a rough family life.
