Studying history promotes an understanding of the growth and development of people, cultures, and countries.

This can help us understand who we are as a people and how we have come to where we are now.

History repeats itself

Therefore, if we know about the past, we can more easily learn about the present and future.

We can also use information about the past to help solve problems in the present.

We can build off of knowledge that people who lived before us had.

This means we can advance in technology more quickly, because we don't have to rediscover all the facts that people before us have found.

The most important reason to study history is that it helps us learn about the growth of people, cultures and countries, because we can learn about ourselves and the history of our country.
