what is innovation?

  • An innovation process is a set of steps between an idea's conception and its implementation. It is a streamlined process that is managed in a way that reflects a company's structure and innovation goals.
  • It's an unique approach to solving a dilemma or finishing a job. A society that accepts failure, fosters risk-taking, and promotes experimentation rewards people for changing their methods of operation. This careful balance is necessary because we value using our innate abilities to complete a task.

the role of innovation in learning

  • In the classroom, our students will benefit from the critical thinking, sense of adventure, and adaptability that innovation in education fosters.
  • It will provide them the skills and confidence they need to meet the demands of their future workplace and the tools they need to continue to adapt.
  • The evaluation of curriculum innovations is a first step in creating an evidence-based education system.

how does outside environment/factors impact the innovation in a learning environment?

  • Students who are poor, dealing with divorced, losing a parent, homeless, afraid, without clothing, and unable to get to and from school are examples of how the outside environment affects learning inside the classroom.
  • Another factor affecting the learning environment in the classroom is the presence of drugs and alcohol, sexual abuse, physical abuse, neglect, and verbal abuse.
  • These factors will stifle innovation in the classroom because students mind would not be on learning. Their mind will be on how to survive another day.
  • These elements will impact their ability to think critically. their imaginativeness, reading skills, and comprehension

examples such as practices, lessons, activities that you believe would showcase an innovative learning environment.

  • Some of the best practices in teaching are: Give students freedom of choice and autonomy. Use methods of open-ended questioning. Give instructions that are clear. Encourage group projects and cooperation among students. Inspire students to reflect.
  • Lessons for innovation: science, technology, and finance
  • Activities inquiry-based: Lemon Volcano: An example of an acid-base interaction. Gravity from Marble Run. Potential Energy - Popsicle Catapult Candy Gears: Work and energy transfer. Surface tension and the capillary action cause water walking. Momentum. A paper roller coaster.
