Humanities

  • Humanities - The humanities include ancient and modern languages, literature, history, philosophy, religion, and visual and performing arts such as music and theatre.

  • Cyber is a shortened form of cybernetics which comes from the Greek word kybernetes meaning "to steer" or "to navigate."

  • When we think about our world, we navigate or move in a physical place.
  • creates a domain for human operations that is not limited by a physical environment
  • removes the physical limitations on human actions, especially in the area of human communications

When it comes to Cyberspace, we must learn:

  • How do we navigate this new world?
  • In what ways is cyberspace a distinct place?
  • How does it differ from other places that have physical limitations?
  • How does it present new problems?
