- other names are warble flies, bomb flies, cattle grubs, and gad flies
- lifespan is 5 days
- lays eggs on the forelegs of cattle
- larvae can cause large swellings and anaphylaxis after ingested
- each female fly can lay hundreds of eggs

Symptoms:
- hide damage
- weight loss
- tissue/meat damage
- crystal like bumps
- hair loss

Treatment:
- apply insecticide before the larvae reach 6 months old
- 2 treatments of insecticides that are 2-3 months apart
