THE WET NURSE

WHO ARE THEY

• Woman who breast feeds and cares for another woman's child
• Usually employed by the mother of the child
• That mother is either unable to lactate or does not wish to breast feed
• Wet nurses link families through a special relationship- milk kinship
• It is often called cross-nursing or co-nursing
