The Great Plains is a great area of land with many landforms across the U.S.

The Plains cover 10 states,North and South Dakota,Nebraska,Texas,New Mexico,Wyoming,Kansas,Colorado,Oklahoma,and Montana.

The Missouri River goes through the Great Plains

The Great Plains are also called the Great American Desert, The Bread basket, and Tornado Alley

The Great Plains are 5000 feet above sea level,The Plain is drained by rivers

The Great American Desert may be drained by rivers but it rains a lot.

Tornado Alley has had 2 major floods, one inbetween 5000BC and 2000BC which caused water erosion

IMPACT OF SETTLEMENT(GOOD)

  • People would want to settle here because it is just an open farmland so many farmers can grow there crops here and make money

IMAPCT OF SETTLEMENT (BAD)

  • It Is called tornado alley which is very dangerous for crops and you will waste a lot of money
  • There is also many other disasters that have happened like the dust bowl
