  • Government attempted to control wages and prices
  • small businesses were limited with compettion

WPA

  • Works Progress Administration
  • insisted that people work before recieveing Government money
  • over 3 million were enrolled
  • mural painters, construction workers

  • Civilian Conservation Corps
  • provided jobs for young men
  • in 1936 half a million from ages 18-25 were enrolled
  • worked in reforestation for soil and watershed prodjects
