The father of the atomic bomb

Robert Oppenheimer was assigned to the Manhattan project on June 1925 and then after three years the first atomic bomb was test fired.

Then less than a month later the first bomb was dropped on Hiroshima and a day later the second bomb was dropped on Nagasaki.

POSITIVE effects of the atomic bomb

  • America earned the respect of other countries
  • We helped end WW2

the negative effects of the atomic bomb

  • The respect that america earned was through fear 
  • Radiation from the bomb caused mutations to the survivors  
  • 9600 died of stroke and 8400 died of heart disease
