FORMATION OF THE SOLAR SYSTEM

The solar system first started to form when a star exploded called a supernova. When the star exploded it formed a nebula, a huge clump of gas and dust

Gravity then acts on the nebula and collapses it. Heat and dust begin to collect in the middle which forms the sun. The nebula then forms a protist else disk around the mini sun. Also called a protoplanetary disk

Gravity pulls the dust to together. The dust clumps together and forms mini planets that orbit the sun, called planetesimals.

The little planets clump together and collide with each other to make huge explosions

After a few huge planets form then they settle in their own orbits around the sun. The debris that was left over forms the asteroid belts around the sun. Gas giants do not form close to the sun because it is too.

AND THATS HOW THE SOLAR SYSTEM WAS FORMED
