The Chinese new user is the most important of the holidays for the Chinese. Since the Chinese New Year is based on a lunar calendar it isn't on the same date as ours, but happens every lunar year.
The Chinese New Year is celebrated for 16 days. On New Years firecrackers and fireworks are set off and a big meal is eaten. The Chinese also decorate the house in the lucky color red to start the new year on the “right foot“

This festival is celebrated by dragon boat racing, eating zongzi, wearing a perfume pouch, tying colorful silk threads (on your ankles wrists and around your neck) and hanging mugwort leaves and calamus on there doors to discourage disease.

It is tradition for the Chinese to eat zongzi during the Dragon Boat Festival. Other foods include fried cake, mianshanz and dagao.
This festival is not celebrated, it is a day for the Chinese to commemorate there ancestors. They do this by tomb-sweeping there ancestors tombs. Weeding, giving the spot new soil and paying respect to the deceased family member or members.
