PRESENTATION OUTLINE
THE YEOMAN AND THE PARDONER
The Yeoman
The Yeoman is a shady man that is prepared for anything thrown at him. He is always equipped with weapons from head to toe and is also religious due to the medal of St. Christopher he wears on his chest. He is a very tan man with brownish/ yellowish hair, hence him looking like a nut. He is very outdoorsy because of his skills with his bow and woodcraft.
Quotes from the Yeoman
"There was a Yeoman with him at his side, no other servant; so he chose to ride." This shows that he was able to do what he needs to do by himself and with no help.
Quotes from the Yeoman
"A saucy brace was on his arm to ward it from the bow-string, and a shield and sword hung at one side, and at the other slipped a jaunty dirk, spear-sharp and well-equipped." - This shows that the Yeoman was overly armed for his pilgrimage and probably wears his weapons everyday.
Modern Comparison
The Yeoman is mostly compared to Robin Hood because the Yeoman wears a coat and hood of green, just like Robin Hood. He wasn't the same in the sense of robbing the rich, but he was a man of the forest. The Yeoman also uses a bow and arrow to guard the land.
The Pardoner
The Pardoner is very sly and selfish person who sells Pardons to the church. He is part of the Church Court, he has long, yellow hair that is forbidden in the church, eyes that pop out, and has the voice that's raspy like a goat. He is sneaky and is ashamed of what he does, he bestow a bag of so called "relics" to sell and he has a stack of Pardons for the people even though it's free. He rides a Nobel steed.
Quotes from The Pardoner
" He sewed a holy relic on his cap"
This quote to me tells me about how he is a fraud like everyone in today's society even though they say they believe in Christ.
Quotes from The Pardoner
"He wore no hood upon his head, for fun"
Basically I chose this quote because it's shows how sly and sneaky he is and he is always planning something under his breath to get money.
Modern Comparison
The pardoner reminds me of modern day con men Natwarlal, he tried to sell the Taj Mahal, and the Red Fort several times. The pardoner tries to sell these so called relics. So both could be partners in crime.
Interaction
Since the pardoner is a scammer, the yeoman might find out that the pardoner scams and rat him out to the rest of the group.
