SOLAR POWERED CHARGING

PROPOSAL

• We would like to implement solar and kinetic powered charging stations for students to charge their devices for BYOD. These will be in places like the library and deans offices.

EXAMPLE ONE

• The ENGO charging station is a solar power and kinetic energy (From footsteps) powered charging station, which provides an emergency phone, charging points for multiple devices and free wifi.

EXAMPLE TWO

• The Changi Airport charging station - not solar powered, but a good model as you can put your device into a cubby, lock the door and leave - a safe way to charge devices.

BENEFITS

• Students can charge devices
• Prestige for our school - environmentally friendly and great innovation
• Solar panels eventually pay themselves off
• Helps with growing BYOD
