PRESENTATION OUTLINE

Manawatu Gorge walk

A very nice experience.

This was right at the start of the walk, we parked our cars and got out and looked down this hill and so the river about 20 meters down

This map tells you where we were going and where about it was, the walk took us about 4 ½ hours but you could run it a lot quicker

When we are just about to start the walk
everyone one lining. Just waiting for the parents to come back.

This is what we were going to see the big slip that happened on the 19th of august 2011.
A couple more slips happened after that none as big but plenty of them, one took 75 days to clean up and the big one took over a year.

This is a real picture of the big slip it is a massive drop don’t know exactly how far down but it was huge.

Most of us standing on the railing above the big slip

nearly or about half way we went up close to the wind turbines and actually saw how big it really was and it was definitely bigger than I expected

The end car park of the Manawatu Gorge
probably the best part to see.

To make sure we didn't lose anyone we had to number off my number was 24.

We were back walking there was one more spot that we had to see before we walked to the end.

There was a cool little view that we found on the way out it was my favourite one.

I think everyone had a good time just walking and talking nearing the end.

I think the views that the gorge walk provided were very good.

There were lots of boards with some information on them or a QR code that make bird sounds.

Hopefully there is no more massive slips like that to ever happen again.
