THE GREAT COMPROMISE

  • People were given equal representation in the government system.
  • This gave every white man a say in the governments work and activity

THREE-FIFTHS COMPROMISE

  • This meant that black slaves only counted as 3/5 of a person
  • This was important to keep taxes low for the south

FEDERALISM

  • Federalism is where a group of people are bound together by covenant with a governing representative head
  • Legislative: consists of congress and house of representatives
  • Executive: consists of the president and his cabinet
  • Judicial: consists of all of the lawyers and judges of the government

ELECTORAL COLLEGE

  • The electoral college facilitates the selection of the new president
  • This makes sure the people have a leader to help in helping the country

BILL OF RIGHTS

  • This gave rights to Americans and paved the path for future amendments.
  • This made sure that every man had rights innthe government

FEDERALISTS VS. ANTIFEDERALISTS

  • Federalists are for a big government and antifederalists are for a small government run by the people and not a huge government
