Be a Miracle to Someone

The Path of More Abundance is Giving Abundance to Others

One of the Most Scandalous Stories

The Good Samaritan

"A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho..."

The road is 17 miles long. Everyone was talking about it. One area is called the "Way of Blood" because a lot of people were robbed and killed There

... when he was attacked by robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead."

At that point, that man was praying for a miracle.

But two people avoided him:

“A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side.”

3 Reasons Why People Avoid the Wounded

Blinded

People thought that being religious and doing rituals alone will get you to heaven.
God has no use for rituals without rela onships, programs without people, and liturgies without love. You follow Jesus to become another Jesus in the world.

Biased

Here’s our big problem: The church doesn’t have that reputa on. Our reputa on is the total opposite. We’re known to judge sinners, condemn sinners, and cri cize sinners.
We’re biased. If you want to walk with the wounded, you’ve got to drop your biases.

Busy

The Priest and the Levite were very busy people. And if you’re a busy person, you don’t like interrup ons. Helping a wounded, half-dead person on the road will be a huge interruption.ife-interrup ons can be God-invita ons. If you’re too busy, you cannot recognize a holy interrup on. If you’re too busy, you cannot hear God’s voice.

Scandalous Example

“But a Samaritan as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him...”

“He went to him and bandaged his wounds.”

Comrades of Compassion

“Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him. The next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper. ‘Look after him,’ he said, ‘and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.’”
