PRESENTATION OUTLINE
Ambiguity(n): to have multiply meanings. The word "light" can mean not dark or not heavy. An ambulance has the cross on it, it can mean health or addition, both the words start with "amb"
Juxtaposition(n): location of one thing to another to create an effect. The two materials were juxtaposed on top of each other so they could be made into a blanket. The picture shows you how much environments can change.
Jargon(n): the specialized vocabulary of a particular group. Doctors use a jargon to describe the patients diagnosis. Jordan has a secret code, Jordan reminds me of jargon.
Description(n): uses details through touch, smell, taste, and hearing. The ribs were so good, Bob couldn't find a description. Desperation has the word script and you can touch a script.
Engage(n): maintain the readers attention. Authors use plot twists to keep their readers engaged. When a women gets engaged she has that mans attention.
Imagery(n): sensory detail used to describe and create emotion. Good authors use imagery so the reader can paint a picture in there head of the story. If you use imagery you create an image.
Ironic(n): contrast between what is stated and what it means. It is ironic how people say they want to lose weight but then go and eat McDonald's a lot. It shows how people don't always want what they say.
Point of view: perspective from the sorry is told. In first person the author is talking about themselves. The number 1 can look like an I.
Perspective: point of which the reader views a subject/idea. Everyone's perspective on a character of a book can be different. The picture shows how different perspective can be.
Impromptu: done without being planned. When two people say the same thing at the same time it is impromptu. Actors use impromptu to become better.
