Animation film is a cinematographic method in which figures are manipulated to appear as moving images. Unlike live-action films
it doesn't use "real" images, but "shoots" drawings, objects, or pictures instead.

Animate:
Give the sensation of movement to images, drawings, or other types of inanimate objects (clay figures, for example).

TRADITIONAL ANIMATION

Traditional animation

  • Bidimensional (2D) sequences
  • Hand-drawn pictures
  • Optical illusion (movement) when images are quickly passed)
  • 24 frames per second.

Stop-Motion animation

  • Created by physically manipulating real-world objects and photographing them one frame of film at a time to create the illusion of movement.
  • Puppet animation, clay animation or object animation.

Computer animation

  • The animation (movement) is created digitally on a computer.
  • More efficient and precise than traditional animation.
  • Technological advantages.
