PUMPKINS

PUMPKINS

  • Pumpkins are able to be grown everywhere but Antarctica
  • They are native to North America
  • Harvest season is typically in September or October
  • Pumpkins are a winter squash
  • The oldest pumpkin-related seeds were found in Mexico between 7000-5500 BC

COOKING

  • Pumpkin puree is sometimes prepared and frozen for later use
  • Ripe pumpkins can be baked, broiled, steamed, or roasted
  • You can mash em, mix em, put em in a soup
  • You could bake the seeds of the pumpkin
  • I'd go for the pie tbh

NUTRITION AND HEALTH BENEFITS

  • High in Vitamin A
  • Calcium, Vitamin C, and Vitamin B-6
  • Its a very low calorie meal
  • It helps protect from "age-related macular disease" (ARMD)
  • Pumpkins are good for heart health

  • They are grown throughtout the world
  • They're seasons are April to June and from October to January
  • The origin of radishes arent really known but we're guessing East Asia
  • Diseases arent really a problem with radishes but pests are

COOKING

  • The whole plant is edible but most people eat the napiform taproot
  • The bulb of the radish is normally eaten raw
  • You could put them in salads or soups maybe
  • I would just eat them raw but then again idk

NUTRITION AND HEALTH BENEFITS

  • Radishes are rich in ascorbic acid, folic acid, and potassium
  • They are a good source of vitamin B6, riboflavin, magnesium, copper, and calcium
  • Theyre a naturally cooling food
  • They soothe sore throats and aid in digestion
  • Prevent viral infections and protects against cancer
