PRESENTATION OUTLINE

PLUTO

BY: AIDAN BURNETT

REASONS FOR PLUTO BECOMING A DWARF

  • It's smaller than any other planet
  • It's dense and rocky but it's neighbors are the outer planets
  • Scientists say its orbit is out of the ordinary and not like all the
  • other planets which make a perfect circle around the sun

CHARACTERISTICS OF PLANETS BY SCIENTISTS

  • It's size
  • Time to orbit
  • Time to rotate
  • Moons?
  • Gravitational pull

CHARACTERISTICS CONTINUED

  • What it's made of
  • Distance from the Sun
  • The planets temperature

DWARF PLANET VS. PLANET

  • Dwarf planet is less than 3,103 miles in diameter
  • Planets are bigger
  • There are only 5 dwarf planets
  • There are 9 main planets, including Earth

A PLANET IS CELESTIAL BODY WHICH:

  • Is in orbit around the Sun
  • Has a sufficient mass to assume a nearly round shape
  • Has "cleared the neighborhood" around its orbit
  • A dwarf planet only passes the first two dots
  • Pluto is a dwarf and interferes with Neptune's orbit, but they never crash

PLUTO TO A PLANET?

  • For Pluto to become a planet these thing need to happen
  • It needs to become a bigger size
  • It has to have a even orbit where it doesn't interfere with another
