PUSH AND PULL FACTORS

REASONS TO MIGRATE

Push factors are reasons to move or migrate away from your home.

Examples of push factors are high crime rates because they create a safety issue for families and put them at risks. Another example are cultural differences because families and people can migrate to survive a mass genocide.

Pull factors are reasons that effectively attract a migrant to a certain area.

Examples of pull factors include job opportunities because migrants are search of higher wages to send back as remittances. Another example is better educational opportunities because parent(s) would want their children to learn better materials and have a higher success.

Push and pull factors are both factors that make people want to migrate. Push factors drive people away whereas pull factors bring people towards a certain destination.
