SUMMARY
The theme of the book " The Mark of Athena ", by Rick Riordan is to always rely on your friends. I think this is the theme because it applies to Many parts in the story. Here is an example when a character was helped out, "We won't give up," Jason growled. "We'll cut you into pieces like Jupiter did to Saturn." "That's right," Percy said "You're both dead. I don't care if we have a god on our side or not."
"Well that's a shame," said a new voice. (Riordan, 521). (And the new voice that appeared was a god that was going to help them fight the twin giants). This is an example of when they had to help eachother out. "You have to work together", Piper cried, hoping she was right (Riordan, 498)
"Both of you think of clean water-a storm of water. Don't hold anything back. Picture all your power, all your strength leaving you." (Riordan, 498). The examples could go on and on of how much they helped eachother, but that is what got them through the quest and also built their relationship. They were able to trust another more which is good for teamates.
