WILLIAM RÖNTGEN

  • Born on March 27 1845 in Remscheid, Germany
  • In November of 1895 he defined radioactivity by discovering the X-Ray
  • Through the experiment of cathode Rays, he discovered that atoms were negatively charged molecules

HENRI BECQUEREL

  • Born on December 15, 1852, in Paris, France.
  • He showed matter can emit energy by itself, without first being 'charged' by the sun
  • He left uranium salt crystals in the sun to absorb energy when he realized he didn't need to charge them.

MARIE CURRIE

  • She was born November 7, 1867, in France
  • She discovered radium and polonium and named them
  • She took Henry Becquerels work further by doing her own experiments on uranium rays
  • The Rays remained constant no matter the form of uranium
  • Her theory was the came from the elements atomic structure
  • Her idea created the field of atomic physics
