Tuesday (25.11.2014)

On Tuesday (25.11.2014) in our media lesson I got the rest of the group to watch the sequence I had put together. Overall they were all happy with what I got and we all agreed from this point we just wanted to add effects and sharpen the cuts. However we also decided to get Louisa to watch it again to see the difference and she noted that the introduction was much better. Then we got Mary to watch it as well and this was the first time she viewed it. We found her criticisms to be helpful but it also caused the group more stress and struggle.

Mary suggested to:

Change the out of focus shots with another shot or try adding an effect to change the focus. - Possibly reshoot as the shots were good just the focus was a bit unfortunate

Change of the shots as Nicole was fixing her top and it looked unprofessional

Change another shot due to her leg being a barrier between the audience and the artist

The studio we had used to film we had to pay for and as the shots were out of focus half the group wanted to reshoot and the other half did not. Also from this point we only had lesson time in which we could film in which was about 2 lessons (one 3hrs and another 1hr30min). We could not come to a decision as to whether we should film again. We could not change any of the shots as it would mean we did not have a variety of shots and there were not really any effects that made a difference to the focus of the footage.

We didn't really edit in this lesson.

Friday (28.11.2014)

Majority of this lesson was spent making a decision on filming however we failed to reach one. I edited the shot of Nicole fixing her top and added some jump cuts in there.

I tried experimenting with effects on the sequence like a monochrome effect which I did not like. We also tried adding a colour wash which our audience liked but again I was not so fond of.

After our rough cut, we ended the lesson off by watching all of our clips with Louisa and worked out which shots we could possibly use and what was out of focus so was best not to use.
