Daily Life in Ancient Greece
In Ancient Greece women would mostly stay at home and do domestic work. Kids would usually play with toys and play games in Ancient Greece and if men weren't training in the military or discussing politics they would go to the theatre.
Government
Greek had lots of governments because there were many city-states and they were called monarchies, oligarchies, tyrannies, and democracies. In Sparta there were usually two kings. Athens were the first to have democracies and although it was a democracy not many people could vote for who would rule the government.
Alexander the Great
He was a king of the Ancient Greek kingdom of Macedon and he was important because he created one of the largest kingdoms in the ancient world.
Parthenon
Parthenon is a temple in Athens and it was dedicated to the goddess Athena. The construction of it began in 447 BC.
The Acropolis is an ancient citadel located on a high rocky outcrop above the city of Athens and contains the remains of several ancient buildings of great architectural and historic significance.
Social Structure
Ancient Greece was made up of independent states that were called polis or city-states. Greek society was mainly broken up between free people and slaves because most free people had a slave. When Athenian society evolved the free people became split up into citizens and metics.
Important gods /goddesses of Greek mythology
An important god is Zeus because he was the king of the gods and he controlled weather. People don't really know what Zeus looks like because in every picture of him he looks different and the Olympic Games was dedicated to him. Athena was an important goddess because she was the goddess of war and cunning wisdom.She was tall had golden blonde hair and dark gray eyes but some people say she had black hair or dirty blonde hair also her father was Zeus.
