WITH BELGIUM

  • received Eupen and Malmedy
  • Also received small parts of Morseńet and St.Vinth

WITH FRANCE

  • France took provinces of Alsace and Lorraine
  • Also took German coal mines in the Saar region for 15 years

WITH CZECHOSLOVAKIA

  • Took the small border area near Troppau (now Opava)

WITH DENMARK

  • Took away Northern Schelswig

WITH POLAND

  • Took away most of west Prussia
  • Much of the Posen (now Poznan) province

THE ALLIES

  • Took away Germany's Rhineland for 15 years
  • Rhine is a river that western Germany surrounds

WITH SWITZERLAND

  • Switzerland and Germany's borders remained the same

The purpose of this section of this treaty was to cede territory from Germany as a "punishment" for declaring war

We think this section of the treaty was fair because Germany declared war. Many other countries were impacted by the actions executed by Germany.
