Culture- the quality in a person or society that arises from a concern for what is regarded as excellent in arts, letters, manners, scholarly, pursuits, etc.

Language Family- a group of languages related through descent from a common ancestor

Cultural hearth- A cultural hearth is any place where certain related changes in land-use appeared due to human domestication of plants and animals.

Popular culture- culture based on the tastes of ordinary people rather than an educated elite.

Language Branch- collection of languages related through a common ancestor that existed several thousand years ago. differences are not as extensive or as old as with language families, and archaeological evidence can confirm that the branches derived from the same family.
