  • Born September 27, 1722
  • Had 11 siblings which only 2 lived past age 3
  • His father was a deacon of the church
  • He was born into a wealthy family

  • His parents wanted him to become a minister
  • But he was interested in politics which became his passion in life
  • He received top notice education, the best money could buy
  • He went to Harvard college at age 14
  • He received his masters degree in arts

MAJOR ROLE

  • He was a representative for massachuetts
  • He served at the first and second continental congress
  • He opposed the new constitution
  • But finally supported its ratification in Massachusetts
  • Represented Massachusetts at every meeting
