• His father was a deacon of the church

• But he was interested in politics which became his passion in life

• He went to Harvard college at age 14
• He received his masters degree in arts

MAJOR ROLE

• He was a representative for massachuetts
• He served at the first and second continental congress
• He opposed the new constitution
• But finally supported its ratification in Massachusetts
• Represented Massachusetts at every meeting

• Was the American revolution political leader
• Played a major part in the sons of liberty

• And recruited john adams and other men Into the patriot cause
